Check the water resistance rating in the specifications above before any contact with water. 3 ATM means splashes and rain, not swimming. Never operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet.
Water resistance is not permanent. Ask for the seals to be checked whenever the battery is replaced, and have the battery removed if the watch will be unused for several months.
Store away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.
